Job Summary: Blavity Inc. is looking for an experienced Talent Manager to centralize Blavity Inc.’s outreach and relationships with talent/influencers. Additionally, the Talent Manager will serve as a source of truth for all editorial and brand teams to utilize when communicating and negotiating with talent. This role requires equal parts rapport and creativity in managing Blavity’s preferred influencer network. The Talent Manager will work across both branded and owned & operated campaigns, programs, and events to match Influencers/talent with the ideal Blavity audience and campaign objectives. Responsibilities span from talent-sourcing and relationship management to negotiating and content development, execution, and metrics tracking.

 

Responsibilities

  • Leverage both industry knowledge and data to appropriately align paid and owned and operated campaign needs with Influencer talent; and lead outreach efforts with talent and agencies
  • Manage cradle-to-grave campaign components related to Influencer talent; from negotiations through campaign wrap you are the point-person for all things Influencer/talent related
  • Partner with Sales to strategically position Influencer talent within active pitches, providing collateral when necessary
  • Partner with the creative production team in creating and executing against fast-paced timelines; revising as appropriate to meet evolving campaign objectives
  • Partner with editorial teams on live programming and event speaker bookings
  • Manage escalations and production challenges as they arise by communicating clearly, and providing strategic direction on how to best execute on time, in scope, and on budget
  • Assess and report-out on Influencer performance, as defined by the metrics of success outlined in the agreement
  • Partner with our internal campaign and Finance teams to ensure agreements are fulfilled as scoped, and invoices are processed accurately and on time
  • Ultimately own the quality standards and organization of all Influencer deliverables
  • Partner with cross-functional teams in co-creating and improving processes as Blavity Inc. continues to grow

 

Qualifications

  • Education: Four year degree, or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience: 5+ years (2+ years in a supervisory capacity) of experience managing digital Influecer talent/brands; with an existing network of Influencer relationships
  • Technologies: Proficiency with project management software such as Asana, Keynote/PowerPoint, and CreatorIQ or similar software
  • Demonstrated diplomacy and discretion in managing negotiations that result in clear scoping and mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Demonstrated knowledge and passion for topical news at the intersection of Black culture; including entertainment, entrepreneurship, tech, and politics
  • Extensive knowledge of how to navigate and extract data from all major social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Flexibility in working non-standard hours, when necessary

 

Competencies/Skills

  • Talent scouting based on client and brand team recommendations and campaign RFPs
  • Deliver talent recommendations in a CreatorIQ One Sheet per campaign, including rationale
  • Manage all talent communications – initial campaign outreach, term and scope negotiations (following overall client and brand team recommendations as provided)
  • Contract Execution – obtain talent/manager signatures on the talent contract; leveraging Blavity’s contract templates
  • Manage talent using CreatorIQ software; including uploading executed contracts and creating the influencer campaign for tracking
  • Manage a reconciled budget report per campaign, itemized by talent

 

Details: This is a Full-Time, Remote position which may require attendance to ad hoc meetings out of our DTLA office.
